I was wondering what you folks thought of our BB tanks? Look okay to you or are they missing something?

Murminator 11-29-2004 03:23 AM

Thanks from me too, Bev and Chris. The Tanks looked great. I still like sand on the bottom, but I reallly liked the look in your tanks, especially some of the nice open rockwork in the big tank.

Also, I want to thank Al again for the Cat's Paw frag. It looks great in my tank.

If you want you can send me some of the sandwiches.

Bev

Thanx for your gracious hospitality! That was a great afternoon.

The BB tanks looked awesome. They are very different from what I'm used to and despite the very simple set up (contrary to the many
high tech "heart lung machine" set ups I've seen)the corals/fish
were vibrant and healthy. Seems to me this method may have some
advantages when it comes to maintenance and nutrient control.

I hope my suggestion to "formalize" the Edmonton Reef Club will eventually be acted on by members of the club. It may even be possible to do so within the existing Edmonton Aquarium Club to reduce the amount of effort needed to get it off the ground. Regular face to face meetings/workshops would go a long way to help grow the hobby and would be extremely useful to newbies and "old salts" alike. The increased exchange in information would reduce costly mistakes and reduce the pressures on wild stocks paying with their lives for those mistakes! The exchange of frags and equipment will also reduce costs for everyone. In the end the hobby will grow and EVERYONE, including retailers win! In addition card carrying club members makes it easier for retailers to offer discounts, as there is power in numbers!

Thanx again!

cheers!
T

P.S. The food was delicious!

Too bad you weren't here, Quinn. You could have packed away SEVERAL sandwiches as well as the delicious shortbread and fruitcake, not that there's anything WRONG with eating fruitcake    (Oh, oh..... too much Seinfeld  )

Here is the place to join the Aquarium Club of Edmonton's (ACE) mailing list that Tsunami was talking about:
