The only reason I suggested the extra height was related to the sudden addition of SPS corals making their way into the tree

Maybe he just doesn't want to be wet up to his armpit!

yup thats it lol , plus i spend alot of time moving frags around so it would be nice to not have to be soaked everytime i did it lol :P

Well remember a 22" tall tank is really only 20" of water

By the sounds of it you could probably just pull out the hole tree when you need to do some work on it

but the extra height just doesnt seem to be a bonus to me , its not like i can change my rock layout so 18" is the height it will always be so the only bonus besides some extra water volume would be the corals for how high they can grow , and because of my OCD to frag lol i doubt they will grow that high ;)

and with 30" as the width it is nice to have to reach so far down to the back of the tank.

biggest issues i have with my current cube is not enough space around the tree sides and the lighting.

because of my sloppy tree design a single halide only really lights either the back or the front but not both , i am getting crazy growth from the intense lighting but im limited to only the front of the tree for frag real estate.

this new tank is getting leds so ill prob be selling off a bunch of stuff from the tree thats grown in the last month to buy the lights for the new tank.
