All the diligent care, maintenance and $ are paying off.
I'm trying my best to create a beautiful reef, although living
in whistler, I'm the only one who sees it :-(

daplatapus 01-09-2013 12:05 AM

If ya posted more pics we'd all see it :D

Very nice tank, BTW

paddyob 01-10-2013 04:32 AM

I'm trying to laugh at a dismal situation....

Well here is 2013. Great start with a full on crash.

Nah, I was thinkin' more just Smurf in general. There's so many you could be with all your skills
I couldn't help myself .. after all the 'short guy' jabs you've taken lately
I've truly enjoyed the T-rex images too

I don't know you personally, so I'm rude
But it's good fun regardless

Magma 01-13-2013 01:21 AM

Been a long year of staring at an empty tank on the stand so finally started doing some work now that I have free time.

New lights so new FTS :D The colors I am getting is amazing! Never saw some of the colors in the corals with my old light :P

(It doesn't look that purple in person; don't know why camera picks up the purple+ so much)

How do you guys take a fts of a six foot tank?
I've taken like 50 and they all look brutal.

Aquattro 01-13-2013 03:12 AM

I just back up until the whole tank is in frame, snap pic and crop out the top and bottom stuff.
However, there are a lot of 6' tank shots better than mine, so my advice might not be best -lol

Leach29 01-13-2013 03:13 AM

It's only 53 inches wide. I guess I got lucky with the fts

I too struggle to get a FTS in one shot. My tank is 10.5ft in length and 3ft wide.

Video!

Leah 01-14-2013 04:16 PM

10.5 by 3 feet...wish I had that problem too! :twised:

mrhasan 01-14-2013 04:18 PM

You got a very "small" tank over here. I am pretty sure you will run out of space very soon and will be looking for an upgrade ;)

if its anything like my tank its the black plastic on the back of the tank, pain in the ass to scrub the coraline of and almost impossible lol

chef 01-14-2013 05:04 PM

coraline

that coraline looks like a nice natural feel. I scrape my black acrylic constantly because I dig the contrast the black adds to the corals. This is definitely a good example of the opposite :surprise:

chef 01-14-2013 05:15 PM

PLASTIC scraper and a lot of pressure, Gotta catch it as soon as you notice it. Sorry for the hijack

yes !
I did try a couple of times to remove the coraline but it is almost impossible to remove it from the round plastic corner overflow anyway so instead I've learned to like the look of it like this !

lastlight 01-14-2013 05:31 PM

Be careful with that fire coral, it might take over and start to kill off others.
