Go to your local SPCA and adopt a dog from there. I don't know much about your home country, but honestly, the cost and expense of bringing a dog over would likely be so prohibitive. At least at the SPCA, you can interact with the dogs and find the one that suits you best. Just because they look a certain way, cute or active, does not mean the dog will fit your lifestyle, you end up frustrated and another dog heads to the pound to be destroyed. They also make sure they are up to date with their shots, spayed/neutered and have a great follow up program which will include a first vet visit, free licensing for a period of time and other programs. We adopted a cat earlier this year and the cost of going through their organization and adopting was less than what it would have cost to buy or even get a free cat once all was said and done.

Dogs are not cheap to own, require medical care, maintenance, time and attention.

Afghan dogs are at the bottom on the list as far as smarts go.
Border collie number one afghan hound number 67 at last place, but to each his own.

Lol! The original poster is talking about a dog from this country. Yes, there is an Afghan breed. But pretty sure they come in other styles just like any other country.
