thanks guys....

Here are the last of my photo session....

I need to come up with a clever name for this one. Its a wild I had for years that did nothing good for me and than I gave it to jroovers and he coloured it up at which point I got a frag back....in high light and flow its a nice tabling acro. I love how the green confusa is growing around it...almost reminds me of a flower.

i'd stock up on halide bulbs like the end of the world is coming! with colours like that i'd be absolutely terrified to ever have to switch things up.

Duker 02-15-2013 07:34 PM

your tank is unreal!!! I too have added a few of those to my wishlist. Thanks and keep those pics coming.

Stones 02-16-2013 01:51 PM

Amazing looking tank! Usually FTS tend to not do much justice to what the tank actually looks like in person but your pic looks wicked. I can only imagine how it looks in person.

My CA have that too Wes and they're growing fine, not sure what it is but they've always been that way.

As always Darryl - Fantastic! - Do you ever go away on an extended vacation? I know most tanks are automated now a days and all that really needs to be done is feed the fish, empty the skimmer cup, make sure the auto top off container doesn't run dry, and visually check that all pumps are operating., oh yeah, make sure the lights go on and off according to the timer - don't think we would want the halides staying on for 2 weeks straight

Do you have someone come in and check the tank that would be just as capable as yourself?, I certainly wouldn't leave a tank that beautiful with all those high end sps in the hands of kid next door  -

Or, do you just tell the wife that were not going on vacations anymore

Good quesion Wayne. I would get rid of the tank if I couldnt leave for a at least a week, ha or the wife would get rid of me. I have come to the realization that crashes happen. Whether away or home (more likely when gone). So I have prepared mentally that one day something might go terribly wrong and I would get over it. THe trick is to minimize the risk by good planning and being pro active.

To answer the question though I go on at least one week long vacation away a year and usually set the tank up so that no one watches it. I get a little anxious near the end of the vacation but not bad and everything has worked out ok.

wayner 06-13-2013 02:38 PM

Ya, I kinda of do the same, we go for longer periods of time so my daughter will stay at the house, I leave her a checklist to follow and through text messages, I check in (more times than she likes) to make sure everything is good, of course she gets ****ed at me cause i'm pretty anal with the questions.

She wouldn't be capable of changing out a return pump should that die but i would leave her emergency numbers of reefer buddies to call in the event of a catastrophe.

Zoaelite 06-13-2013 03:20 PM

Proud to be Canadian with this tank on our side of the border !

There are only few tanks I really admire on the forum and your tank has always been one of the most inspirational for me. It's not only the exquisite collection that wows me but the longevity and the color retention of the hardest kept Sps that makes one think you must be doing something right. Great job Darryl! Keep up the good work, I hope one day I can see the tank in person just to experience the true colors of it all.
Thanks for sharing!
