what would i need to get this tank fully operational ??

TaioneReefer 07-22-2012 10:48 PM

skimmer and 1 inch pvc =D

darrin41 07-22-2012 10:59 PM

Do you have a recommendation for a skimmer ? The plumbing should be able to figure that out

TaioneReefer 07-22-2012 11:46 PM

i used to run vertex 180, it was cheap and a good skimmer.

on a 210g tank? an in 180 would be only good for a very minimal stock list .. go bigger at least a in250 or 280... very important to suck as much crap out of tank you can... ive ordered the new bubble magus curve 9 rated suposedly for 400g for my 180g tank 240g total water volume.. if it performsm the way it rates it or teh curve 9 would be a inexpensive fit for this tank...just my 2cents

agreed! I used a 180 because it was included in the package I bought, but definitely, the bigger the better.

About time. Grats to who ever got the nice tank.

Leah 08-11-2012 10:08 AM

So jealous, this tank is gorgeous, wish it were me that got it.

Well, after much convincing, my wife let me get this tank. She's not pleased, but she says she'll get over it. :)
It's a bit bigger than I had originally planned but it should satisfy my reef junkieness for a while.
Thanks again Taionereefer, it was nice meeting you and your family. And thanks again for the icecream too :)

If you get her involved, she may get over it pretty quickly. Maybe let her make a livestock choice or two. :)

Hubby told me he didn't want another tank In the house . . . Until I showed him a photo of a Fu Manchu Lion. He's decided that the lion tank can go in his office. He's already decided where and is reorganizing right now.

That is a gorgeous setup, and I'm sure you, and the missus, will be very pleased!

I went through the same deal with my wide but after she saw the tank full and alive, she liked it and made a few livestock decisions already.
Key is to make her get involved.

And honestly don't worry about the size as you won't need to upgrade at a later date. Honestly best decision in this hobby is to always go bigger than planned... Less upgrading in the future.

Enjoy the awesome setup, I saw that tank in action and it was gorgeous.
