Looking good Mindy! Love all the colors.

Are you losing the battle to Valonia? I hate that stuff.

Chowder 04-04-2013 05:12 AM

I haven't really done anything about Valonia in that tank. It doesn't get enough attention. I should add a couple Emerald Crabs to take care of it.

Which one? There are about a dozen in that tank. I have a "thing" for brains...

The green one? That one is super aggressive, that's why it is in the corner.

Haha, not always. The mesenterial filaments are coming from the edge of the tissue where it meets the skeleton.

Ohhh, you can't have that one. I bought it in Feb 2007, and it is the oldest coral I currently have. :D

It looked like this when I bought it:

The beast strikes again! That orange and green brain is such a jerk. This red and green brain has been stung a few times over the years...he's tough.

(out of interests' sake, this is the same coral pictured above)

A couple recent additions. I can't wait for them to color up! :D

Yeah that's pretty orange

Myka 05-11-2013 01:51 PM

It's not quite as orange as the picture suggests, it's pretty close though. The lighting on this tank doesn't have any white bulbs, they are all blue plus and an actinic (I have to keep the PAR down or the corals start bleaching) so it is hard to get the white balance right. I think it will color up a bit more. I bought it only an hour after it landed at Bayside Corals, so it is pretty fresh, but I imagine it has faded at least a little from the shipping stress and darkness.
