Nice aquascape! It reminds me of another set up I saw on nano-reef. Here is the link to that reef set up. Check it out as I think they lay out of the rocks is very similar to yours.

I think it looks very similar to yours but his set up is LPS dominated while you are going for SPS.

Thank you! Ya it is pretty similar. The only thing different is that the rock on the left of my tank is isolated from the rest of the rock work. You can see that near the beginning of this thread. Thanks for the link.

Thanks! I can't wait until the corals start growing up and then it will start to look like a natural reef.

Update:

A couple things have happened since my last update.

- Purchased the SL1 Module for my RKL
- Purchased the Float Switch Kit and now I have ATO. Very handy
- Upgraded my 10,000K Bulb to a 14,500K Bulb
- Purchased a Frag of a Rainbow Monti from King Ed's in Vancouver

Suprisingly got a good picture from my cheap camera.

Enjoy!

Cool looking tank, it'll be interesting to see how the SPS does.

You should consider switching out your standpipe for a HGB design, it'll actually skim the surface like an overflow and be less obtrusive.

Thanks, I will definitely look into that design a little more. It looks like it would work quite well.

Update:

Very sad day for my family today.

One of my True Perculas was found on the hardwood floor:cry:

Maybe I should have put a screen on the top of the tank. I knew that Percs had the tendency to jump. Jeeze.

I will post pics of SPS growth in the tank soon.

Ya. My 8 year old brother bought this little guy and he was so sad when his fish died. And thank you.

Paigee 06-10-2012 06:19 AM

Your tank looks good! Sorry about one of the little guys passing. You should post a fts with the new bulbs in!

Update:

Purchased 2 Bangaii Cardinals the other day. I am pretty sure that they are a male and a female because they were following eachother around in the stores tank and they are getting along great in my tank right now. I will post some pics of them later on.

Aquaticguy11 06-23-2012 06:25 AM

Update:

Here they are. I am sure hoping that they are going to be a male and female. They have been getting along great in my tank and seemed to be hanging around with each other at the store so that is a good sign.

That last photo is a great shot! Are you going to raise the fry? The babies are soooo darn cute!

Thanks! Yes I am planning on raising the fry. I have a 10 gallon sunlit tank that has a deep sand bed, chaeto and some rock in it. I can't wait to see the little guys swimming around in the males mouth!

Aquaticguy11 09-25-2012 03:09 AM

Update:

Some more bad news in the way of live stock. My female clownfish decided that she wanted to jump out just like her husband did. Greattt.... I think I am going to stay away from clownfish for a while until I get some kind of screen on my tank.

Some good news is that my male Bangaii is still holding the eggs and we are now at day 16. Hopefully he will hold them for the remaining few days.

I set up a ten gallon tank with mature tank water, some chaeto from my fuge, and a deep sand bed about a month ago and this will be the new babies home. I have some brine shrimp eggs and a hatchery ready to go and will see if I can raise these little guys.

brizzo 09-27-2013 02:49 AM

Any updates on this cool build?

Aquaticguy11 09-27-2013 03:27 AM

Shut it down about 9 months ago. Playing hockey and going to university. I didn't have enough time or money for it any more.
