A buddy of mine worked at a rendering plant for about 2 days and won't eat another hotdog in his life. Myself, I may know better but as long as it tastes good I still eat everything that I like without reflecting on it's origins. So far I'm not too fat (my opinion) and have lower cholesterol than my veggie pushing wife. |
Louis ck had a hilarious bit on eating animals. It boiled down to him thinking it was wrong but in the end he didn't care that he thought it was wrong lol. I was darn near vegan for a year and a half and was all over that PETA stuff. I snapped one night, ate a huge box of dry ribs and am living happily ever after.

I don't really care about food contents anymore, I eat what I like & what makes my tummy happy so it's at least 2 dbl Macs & fries a month ( some times more depending on where I am working.

my gf and I had McDonald's after seeing supersize me in theatres lol.

I dont understand the not eating animal products/meat thing. Our ancestors... 30...40...50 thousand years ago... ate meat. They forever did, and we still do. Our bodies and digestive systems are designed for it. Full vegan... I cant see that being easy on one's body. (That is not a poke at anyone that has or is). I just dont understand it 'scientifically'. Cheers, Chris |

Also I would dispute the claim that our digestive systems are designed to eat large quantities of meat. I'm curious why you think being a Vegan would be hard on someones body compared to eating food like McDonalds regularly? I do eat a rather large quantity of meat myself, probably to my health's detriment. |
If you happen to slip into PETA's clutches they go on at length about how we're NOT designed to eat/digest meat actually... but like I said I'm a free man now. I'm sure eating all the meat I do eat isn't great for me but I can't think of many things I enjoy more than eating and meat reigns supreme =)
And I suspect you're right about the vegans doing so more for ethical reasons. That was my motivation but I didn't eat well at all in this mode... It was more a case of removing what I told myself was unethical... not nearly enough supplementation! |

I wasn't suggesting people did it for health reasons. I was just saying I dont get it. Animals will be eaten, if not by us then by other animals... If they are humanely 'euthanized' then it just makes sense to me we should continue eating them. We used to eat bison and wooly mammoths and deer and other critters. We evolved through tens of thousands of years, all of our ancestral forms eating meat. I don't see how we aren't made to eat it? Meat has always been more accessible than cultivated foods (not to say we didn't eat plants and berries and flowers and what-not). I'm pretty much the opposite of a vegan, but not barbaric. Though I still enjoy a variety of salads and vegetables, grains, etc. Cheers, Chris Sent from iPhone's tapatalk - Please excuse poor writing! |
