MMAX 12-18-2011 01:46 AM

I did something I've never done before. Couldn't justify spending $60-$80 on a tree this year so I threw down a whole $5 for a permit and cut down one myself. When I was a kid, we always had jackpines for trees so that's what I got. Was a little skimpy to start with but 1400 lights and a s***load of decorations later it doesn't look too bad.

Here's ours.

And Joan's Christmas Village: She's now well over 200 pieces; takes her hours to set up. My lousy photography skills don't do it justice. It really is amazing.

And this is where I hang out: in the village pub. You can't see me through the window though 'cuz I'm flat on my back on the floor.

That's awesome Snappy!

I buy a real tree every year. I don't think Christmas smells right without a real tree in the house. :D I like to go to a tree farm, pick one out, and cut it myself, but this year I didn't have time. I got it lat weekend and there were only two left at Home Depot, and the other one was skinny. This one's fat, but short. Only 4' tall. I took the time to string the 500 lights inside the tree too by running the lights out the end of each branch, and then back in to the trunk. Lights up the inside of the tree and twinkles. :)

Thanks, we helped a little, otherwise all the decorations would be on one branch.
Look forward to it Grizz, it's a lot of fun.

Snappy 12-18-2011 10:52 PM

I couldn't resist with the worm rock shot earlier.http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h2...reindeer-1.gif
Probably should have used a flash but this will have to do. We ended up getting a smaller skinny tree this year.
