Very nice tank! What are the rest of the components?

Just one thing about the design worries me - the return lines seem to be below the bottom of the overflow teeth. Are you going to have the rreturns pointed up close to the water's surface? With the two vortechs I'm sure you won't need the returns to add flow.

DCDN 01-08-2011 10:17 PM

That is one gorgeous tank, cant wait to see it filled

lastlight 01-08-2011 10:28 PM

Looking sexy as heck! That piece of plastic is a bit more holey than the last time I saw it. Nicely done!

riceboy 01-12-2011 10:54 PM

Just a little update tank is being filled with ro water, and i got a stand made by the grizz, and all plumbing is done. will be taking pics soon of everything in the tank lol. a big hand to concepts for helping me bring the tank home and setting up my skimmer lol, and another big hand to the grizz for helping me bring the tank to my down to my living room.

Very nice. I love the back wall. How has the flow from the vortechs been affected with the wall around it and intake hole? Still as broad? Undertow?

You need a few gear clamps on hoses down below!

riceboy 01-27-2011 02:15 PM

the flow is great i have the mp40s linked and running eco mode so i get pulses which gives me waves and the mixes in with constant flow so its pretty speratic lol. the corals seem to like the flow with mad polyp extensions lol. ya i already have the clamps on that picture was prior to adding in water lol

i need to learn how to use my slr lol and get a tripod lol

thanks
victor

the power heads in the back look great, love the idea of hiding them. Hows the flow working, no sucking noise or flow problems.

magicians grew out for a bit but aptasia got onto the rock and started to attack them but its slowy recovering.

riceboy 10-20-2011 02:22 PM

well after a solid 8 months of growth and gaining color on all my sps, it seems its my turn to have a tank try to crash on me. not really sure what the problem is but i have lost my strawberry short cake, purple monster and a couple of other sps that i don't know the name of, and a bunch of my sps are stning. not really sure what the case is my tank parameters are:

all based on the api master reef test kit
dkh 8
calcium 400
po4 non detectable
nitrate non detectable

mag 1300 based on elos test kit
salinity is 1.025-1.026 refracto meter

and have not changed a thing to the system, been running pellets from day one, rox carbon, and brs phosphate remover changed every month and been using kalk in the ato to maintain calc and alk.

i have done about 70 gallons of water change in the past 5 days but yesterday was when i saw 5 frags just stn on me  seems to only hurt my sps, cause all my zoas, acans and torches are doing awesome

if anyone can give me some advice that would be great, or is this just part of the tank cycle lol

victor

Skimmerking 10-20-2011 04:53 PM

Vic that is the way SPS's are one minute you are watching them and they are great and you get up and walk away they are RTNing or STNing

riceboy 10-23-2011 06:24 AM

Ya I just don't get it seems like all my favorites are doing shitty. Gonna do another 20 gallon water change tomorrow and see if I get some polyp extensions back. On one note all the zoas and lps are doing awesome and fish are all eating like pigs even got my lyretail anthias to start eating pellets lol

riceboy 10-25-2011 01:30 AM

Have any of u guys ever tested for voltage in the tank? I'm at 39 Volts in the tank and was wondering if that's normal?

ScubaSteve 10-25-2011 01:37 AM

Ummmm, no. Not normal. Get a ground probe in there ASAP
