wow, you are an Elite Zoa Collector! So hurry up and finish those exams already! By the way are you taking orders yet or is it first come first served??? :biggrin:
|
200+ polyps ... wow! You have a very beautiful tank!
|
Exams finished about a week ago, I'm holding back on the frags to ensure my colonies are nice and healthy before I start cutting them apart. I doubt I will publicly advertise the sale as I have a WHACK load of people on my frag list (Don't worry Kien your name is on there now :biggrin:). I will send out a mass email and it will be first come first serve at that time.

Anyone know if there is new Coral in Calgary? I gave my brother my massive scoly and my aussie duncans so I have some room to fill.

Few big updates with the tank;
I'm still running my NP biopellets and have been pretty happy with how everything has been going but I have watched a slow decline in the health of certain zoa species. I finally picked up a different phosphate test and figured out why, apparently I have VERY high phosphates :neutral:. I have enjoyed lower nitrates from the pellets but as advised I should have been running a phosphate capturing media just as back up. I purchased some new Rowaphos, set up the reactor and so far over 3 days everyone that was angry at me is making a come back. Considering this and due to some tank residents getting to large I borrowed Kiens fish trap and trapped my Vlamingii and yellow fin (Really sad to see both go :sad:. Added a great little purple tang from Kevin @ Red coral and a McCosker's flasher wrasse (Perhaps the nicest looking fish I have ever seen). Will post some new photos tonight when I head home, I have really started large scale into SPS and the tank looks very different. |
Great stuff! Keep the pics coming!

Some new shots with my zoas in there own special tank:

Those rocks covered with multiple zoas are AMAZING! Truely top notch work man. (are those the frags healing up under the tank i see? getting excited even though im bottom on the list there isnt a thing in this tank that id turn away.)

This "position on the list stuff" is cracking me up, just because your at the bottom doesn't mean you get last pick. I will send PM's out all at once, when everyone come over is when everyone comes over (Out of towners will get some photo at the same time). Looking for trades over anything, want to step my zoa collection up a few notches so anything rare or colorful that I don't have is preferable. Greg I'm a little afraid to cut that colony appart, I have a frag of something similar but none of those. Making frag's is never easy with zoas, colonies are very suseptible to infections afterwards. |
Ahhh I envy your colors in your tank!!
So much florescent greens and reds; bright purples accented with glowing pinks. :twised: |

Similar is good to. I cant even imagine fraging anything in my tank for fear of it not recovering. What you have fraged already is truly amazing to me.:mrgreen:
