Water tested sump and for a welder and a first attempt at acrylic I must say I even impressed myself. http://i765.photobucket.com/albums/x...d/100_3068.jpg http://i765.photobucket.com/albums/x...d/100_3069.jpg http://i765.photobucket.com/albums/x...d/100_3071.jpg |

and it is called acrylic welding is it not? so you as a welder should be able to do it.
Melting metal or acrylic same principle done with heat. Different heat temp. Ones with electricity and gas and the other is chemical. Seams have to be flawless for both. Your still welding. Great job.
Here is what it looks like under the tank:

Good point Chase and Cory, I guess it is some what similar.
So what are you going to do with the empty 3" of space on the left side. Frag tank maybe.
No that is where the overflow's are going to run into. Going to fill it with LR Rubble, the water will then run over baffle into refugium, then into skimmer 1, then into skimmer 2, then into dual phosban compartment & finally into return compartment that I think will have some more LR. Flow is clockwise.
oops. I meant the 3' space on the other side of the pump.

wow dream tank build i have like the smaller scale of yours lol the 17g version im hoping to have space soon to build an 8' to 10' tank and shallow gonna be following this one.

Nothing new to report, I have to get the bulk heads in so I can figure out the plumbing. Drill a hole in the sump for the retun. As soon as I get more done I will post some pic's.
REALLY NEED MY 155 BOW FRONT TO SELL SO I CAN FINISH THIS ONE AND GET IT RUNNING |
Lights are to be shipped out tomorrow, should see them in a week or so.
:twised:More pic's:boink:

They did that for sure running on about 3 hrs sleep today:yawn::yawn::yawn:
Ya but you wouldn't wan't it any other way.
I could have used a couple more hrs sleep but it was nice to have my girls here. Went add picked up some of the plumbing part's I needed today but not going to work on it tonight. I am now thinking of doing a closed loop on the tank as well.
So I think I am going to do a closed loop on this system using a OM 4 way & a pump with about 2500 gph. Just have to find someone who is willing & has the right size bits to come out to my place & drill 1 - hole for a 1 1/2" bulk head & 4 - hole's for 1" bulk head.
Going to do the plumbing for the overflow's, return pump & UV sterilizer today so I will add pics later. |
