Looks great!! PS - FWIW, the anemone is Heteractis crispa, or sebae anemone.

Now you got me thinking....... I will be looking into that one.

Fragzilla 02-21-2010 05:02 PM

When I aquascape my new tank I will be having an Zoa Garden. Over the past while I have been picked up a number of different types.

A pic I took last night.

Nice color, I want one:biggrin:

Fragzilla 03-02-2010 01:15 AM

PUMPED!

Just got word that my tank is being delivered tonight

Yea

Now I will be able to start the aquascaping that I hab been thinking about for the past few weeks. Also looking forward to being able to place my coral in their final resting place. I have been using a temp tank for too long.

Pics to follow

Fragzilla 03-02-2010 03:04 AM

Crap, this sucker was HEAVY!

Coming in the front door my right hand slipped and the tank was going down. I managed to get my leg under it and caught the overflow preventing it from hitting the tile. That would have been NASTY!

My leg has a 2" gash in it for proof!

But here it is not in it final resting place though:wink:

Three side starfire - nice!

WoooHooo!!!!
But wait, there's no water?!?

Fragzilla 03-02-2010 04:00 AM

No Water is true.

But like any tank build it had to be christened with my blood.

I just didnt think it would be before it was even on its stand .:surprise:

I have to agree - could do without the traumas, but it wouldn't be the same!
So much more fun to tell the install story, "Blah, blah, blah - and I bled all over the carpet, but I didn't need any stitches and the tank was fine."

How soon do you think before its on the stand & filled?

Funny that it is true for most of us hey. Thanks for the compliments too.

I may start the swap towards the end of the week, may have to wait till next Monday as i may go away this weekend. I also need to let the silicone dry/cure for a bit before I start to fill it and will try not to rush it.

I will be working on the plumbing over the next few days. I will have it all cut to size ready for glue.

The family is going to enjoy looking at the tank sitting on the kitchen table for the next few days at meal time - LOL

Swapping Tanks

Well tonight I got started on doing the swap from the 55 gallon temp tank to my 120gal. So far it has gone without a hitch - touch wood!

Couple of shots before i began.

http://i865.photobucket.com/albums/a...k/IMG_4275.jpg

http://i865.photobucket.com/albums/a...k/IMG_4276.jpg

First thing on the list to do was to remove some water and save it in a couple of buckets. I removed my coral and got it into couple of the buckets.

http://i865.photobucket.com/albums/a...k/IMG_4277.jpg

http://i865.photobucket.com/albums/a...k/IMG_4279.jpg

Then proceded to remove more water, once i had another bucket pretty full of water I place all my rock in it.

http://i865.photobucket.com/albums/a...k/IMG_4278.jpg

Then a little more water in a smaller bucket for the live stock.

http://i865.photobucket.com/albums/a...k/IMG_4284.jpg

they are wondering what was going on. The clowns were lost without their buddy!

Once everything was out of the old tank I moved it over to the coffee table and placed everything back in it. I plan on running it this way for the next couple of days while I get the 120 all set up. I have all the plumbing to run, aquascaping and will be going with a skiff of sand. Also I have a little bit of finishing touches to do on the stand and the flooring.

Here is my coffe table tank:lol:

http://i865.photobucket.com/albums/a...k/IMG_4285.jpg

I pace the new tank on the stand and started a little bit of the install.

Here is how things sit as of tonight.

http://i865.photobucket.com/albums/a...k/IMG_4286.jpg

http://i865.photobucket.com/albums/a...k/IMG_4289.jpg

http://i865.photobucket.com/albums/a...k/IMG_4290.jpg

I have lots to do over the next couple of days. I dont want to have my live stock and coral in the tank on the table for any longer than I have too.

One thing I have to say is I have a very understanding Wife. First off I built the stand in the middle of our family room. Then the caos of selling my other tank and setting up the 55 gallon. Now I am back at it again doing this swap. Through out all of this she has not given me any hasstle! - thats Love for ya:lol:

I am sure that tomorrow I will have another update.

Till then

kien 03-04-2010 11:58 AM

Fragzilla 03-04-2010 12:42 PM

It will provided that two things don't happen.

Well you can let her know that it will safely hold 400 to 500 pounds

I had a couple of girls dancing on this table a few times, so i figured it could handle this tank:wink:

Drilling will be in my future. I plan on having it rock solid, (excuse the pun:lol:) where it will not move. I dont want to/have to redo the rock work every so often. Once it is in place thats where it going to stay.
