Wow, I am jealous what a great looking store any ideas on opening one in Penticton?
Okay well laugh. Serious here I'd settle for Kelowna.

Hey, cool chick in picture. What an amazing store. WAS wishing we had half as nice a
store here in the Valley. But on second thought bad idea. I would never go home again.
Very envious, Good Luck! Post more pictures so I can cry a bit more.

How do I explain to my wife
Tell her it followed you home!!

FYI, "Benny" the blenny is already settling in nicely, and my husband loves him! And was especially proud that I gave him a cheesy name.

We may be stopping by again tomorrow so he can see the store.

It is a very nice store, beautiful wood work around the tanks, and as an extra added bonus it comes with fantastic staff who are very helpful and knowledgeable

I have very high hopes that we may finally have a great store in Edmonton. The potential is definitely there; the setup is gorgeous.

Instead of the coral tanks in the back, they should put in a comfy sofa and one could just sit and watch the tanks. Amazing how quiet it is in there.

leezard 03-26-2009 11:48 PM

Oops.

I did it again.

I guess I needed a little pick me up, so went in just wanting to look at the shrimp, since I love them so much.

I looked.

I saw.

I.... conquered. Dammit. I need to stay away from that place!

So, store is coming along nicely. There's an awesome display area in the front, and what used to be an industrial hanging fishtank is a gorgeous wall unit that would look amazing in a library or home entertainment setup.... except where the TV would go is the "Space-arium" I think it's called. So sue me if it's not. It's pretty.

And still nice to talk to, with useful advice and information.

I guess I'm more addicted than I thought. But if I continue to have such good service, then I'll continue to rave about it.

does anyone know if they have snails or crabs yet?

Thanks

leezard 03-27-2009 12:42 AM

I may have seen some snails today, but am really not sure. I guess they're expecting more livestock to be on the floor by Monday. Maybe give them a shout to find out.

subman 03-27-2009 12:48 AM

was there anything new?

leezard 03-27-2009 03:41 AM

A few fish and some hardgoods -- he was also starting to set up the coral tanks.

There are also a couple more custom display tanks in the store.

Otherwise, I'm not sure what else there was. Check on Monday -- sounds like there'll be some good fish out of QT.

My wife says I'm addicted to fish-crack!

She's right:redface:

leezard 03-27-2009 02:46 PM

There are definitely worse things to be addicted to!!!

Like sharks. They bite. ;)

leezard 04-01-2009 12:20 AM

Yeah, yeah. I'm addicted.

Went in today to pick up the six line wrasse (sorry, no pics this time! It's a shy goober and won't come out to play, yet).

The lights are getting up, and the coral tanks are setup! Really brightens the place up, and it looks great. I think they said corals should be coming next week? I could be wrong on that, though.

I honestly didn't look around to see what was new -- I don't dare, else I come out with something I didn't expect to get. I figured I'd go in and get what I went for -- and it worked! I walked out with just one fish. Almost left with another shrimp..... Willpower was with me today.

The display tanks in the front will apparently be up and running soon, too.

I was a little dismayed at a couple of clients that went in, though -- it just went to prove that no one is ever happy. They literally walked in the door and stated, "You don't have any fish? You must have just opened." in a very smug manner and tone. I personally would have loved to kick them, but Josh handled it very well and showed them the fish.

Funny, since Lando was in the process of bagging my wrasse.

I don't miss working in customer service. Ok, maybe a little, but there are SO many times that I could have yelled at clients! (And, well.... there have been times..... but I draw the line when they encourage their kids to kick puppies.....) :puppydog:
