I have a 48" moonlight with 36 blue LEDs in it. It looks awesome at night, but can't capture the bright colors that way.

I think after you get your tank up you will have the same problem too with your own stuff if you start buying in mass like you were saying.

Thank you. I am not too sure of the ID on a couple of them, but I tend to liek to buy things that are really browned out if they look like they may have potential and see what happens in a few weeks. I think most of the brightest SPS I have were acquired this way, and it is always a nice suprise what turns out. As for shots, I still want to pick up a better macro lens, but this hobby won't let me save up enough.

Thanks. I think we all have something in common on here, and that is that we all love our tanks and finding ways to make it better. I hope whatever I do next doesn't ruin all I have put in so far.

I like the browned out pieces as well. It is always exciting to see them colour up. And for buying a new lens start selling frags and use that money to buy it.
I'm doing that to afford my new camera.

I have a feeling even if I did sell any frags, that money would just go to new frags!:p

Chowder 01-06-2009 12:25 AM

Atleast that way your making the tank pay for its self.

I'd take a frag of that cyphastrea if you were closer!! I'm sure you wouldn't have a problem moving anything else, your corals are wicked.

fooser 02-02-2009 11:09 AM

It has been a while, but I suppose it is time to add some more pictures to my little photo journal. Maybe I should put up some LPS this time instead of just SPS.

Great looking tank, acros are looking real good. How about some equipment shots also. Always enjoy seeing the support system partially reponsible for the success.

michika 02-02-2009 02:58 PM

I was lucky enough to see this tank in person yesterday and it is stunning. Its like a candy store of SPS. The polyp extension on everything is crazy as well. If you can, definitely see this tank in person. You've done a beautiful job Anthony!

I would tend to agree with this ID... looks almost exactly like a colony I have, which I bought with no knowledge of..

So for now, until I find something more conclusive, I will believe it is a cyphastrea japonica. If anyone else can correct me, please do!

I picked up one just like this and did some research and I think it may be a Echinopora lamellosa.

Check out some of the pictures from a google image search and let me know what you think.

My corals are so small, I don't think you would be able to break off too much Haha.

Will do. I am battling it out with a cold/flu right now, but I plan to do some fragging when I get better! You will know about it when the frags are recovered and ready to go! :)

I was thinking the same thing. Nice buys you got there by the way.

fooser 04-02-2009 09:27 PM

I decided to take some pictures of my newly setup 14 gallon I setup last week. I made this into my LPS and Zoa tank, but I ran out of room in less than a week of stocking. I didn't even get half of my zoas and LPS in there so I will be tearing it down for a 3o gallon within the next few weeks. I think it has become obvious that LPS is starting to catch my interest.

I don't know!! My money keeps jumping out of the wallet on its own and I have to accommodate space!!! Well, It helped that I moved a couple of LPS out, but it only made enough room for about 3 new additions. So I will have to move some of my other colonies to my 50 gallon for now to make room for the rest. For now though, about 8 of them are just on the sand in the front of the tank. :( Want to come over for some more frags? haha I think I need to reduce the size of some of my colonies to make room for new ones  and have a bunch of little colonies instead
