I can't do TOTM because everyone would LAUGH at the simplicity of my system!! No controllers, reactors, or dosing or .............well, anything. My tank system is so "simple" I would be embarrassed to do a write up - also why I never did a proper journal!~!!!:redface: (So be quiet you guys!:redface::surprise:)

But thanks for the compliments!

Leah, I don't think I've ever seen any pics of your 72!! Come on share....I did!

Leah 06-08-2009 03:43 PM

:biggrin:Umm, yeah I feel like you!! My tank is basic no special equipment just a labour of love,
sweat and tears:wink: But I will talk to the boss and get some photo's up, I
really do have a tank...tanks  Powderbanditcoat can vouch for me:lol:
It is not all just in my head:redface:

I would LOVE to see those pics!

JDigital 06-08-2009 03:57 PM

What's wrong with simple? I'd love a simple system.. haha

Leah 06-08-2009 04:02 PM

We could trade ^^^ teehee!!!

Chaloupa 06-08-2009 04:54 PM

ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS TANK!!!!!! WOW! The bulbs made a huge difference and looks much better! Simple is just fine...mine's a simple tank; only an Aquacontroller (basically a smarter powerbar!) and the rest is simple. Very very nice!

fishytime 06-08-2009 05:26 PM

Maybe a better reason to be FTOTM.....to remind peeps that a tank doesnt have to be a: high tech and thus expensive...b: sps dominant to be beautiful.

ps. didnt you just start running a carbon reactor:razz:

Just picked up a RBTA!! I have been wanting one for awhile now and finally found one from a fellow canreefer (Thanks Steve)!

http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r...AJUNE09008.jpg
This was the very next morning after adding it the night before so it seems to be doing great! Infact it has doubled in size about (4-5") since this pic even just one day later, and still all bubbly!!

Delphinus 06-19-2009 04:36 AM

Mmm, nice score. Put me on the waitlist for a clone please !! :)

Carmen 07-16-2009 03:48 AM

Couple of Pics! Trying to figure out this camera to consistently capture better pics! Enjoy anyway.

Upgraded to a new 6 Bulb Tek light! I notice it is brighter near the botom though not too sure it shows up in the photos much. Not sure I am crazy about the bulb color - abit yellowish??? (These are 3 X Aquascience 15000K, 2 Actinic, 1 Fiji Purple).
I was quite happy with the color in the KZ New Gen 14000K bulb so I might need to switch out a for a couple of those.
Before (4Bulb Tek)

I LOVE my new RBTA! Although it has lost most of its bubbles I really can't believe how big it has gotten now that it has settled in.

I picked up a baby Clown to pair up with Miss Nemo and they seem to have accepted eachother. He has even convinced her to leave the FROGSPAWN! YAY!!!!! Both are hosting the RBTA which is soooo awesome! The frogspawn has expanded to nearly twice it's size. Everyone's happier!

Leah 07-18-2009 04:08 AM

Carmen,
I still love your tank! and I am wondering what the red is in the last picture on the right at the very top.

Pazil 07-18-2009 04:11 AM

Tanks looks great... and the pics look great!! Congrats...

Carmen 07-18-2009 04:13 AM

Thanks Leah! (I have yet to see your pics you know!)
Red Macro Algae. I just love the color so I keep some in my display! It grows like crazy under those lights and when it gets too big I just move some to the sump.

Leah 07-18-2009 04:24 AM

I Know, pictures will be coming. I have just changed my tank around and added all new
sand. And will be changing out some of my livestock....tank is somewhat milky still.
I love the pop the red gives in your tank...I will have to keep my eyes open for some.

Bulb change made a huge difference and yeah that is one incredible looking softie tank! You claim you're new at this but the pics make that seem untrue!

Thanks Brett - you are so kind.

Great looking tank. Wonderful job in setting it up Carman, and just because it's simple is no reason for it not to be TOTM. IMO TOTM should be beautiful to look at, and you have that covered

Thanks Laurie! Great Compliment!
It just seems that TOTM needs more "fancy" gadgets and such! Heck I don't even use RO water!:biggrin:

But I do appreciate all of your kind words. Thank you.

RO is easy, I just told my boyfriend to set it all up and he makes it work  Thankfully I didn't have to figure it out myself or I would be in trouble

FYI, think of it this way, the more "fancy" gadgets you got the more writing you have to do

Harlequins dont eat brittle stars....they eat the meatier stars like linkias etc.

lastlight 08-07-2009 07:16 PM

Wow never seen them in numbers like that! I loved finding the odd one I had in my old tank but you must love these like I loved the piles of those brittle white filter feeders that cover live rock. I'd be yankin' those guys OUT =)

Actually truthfully they don't seem to bother the corals and I guess they are more beneficial than anything. I don't mind them - just find it truly AMAZING how many have reproduced!

Carmen 09-14-2009 03:53 AM

CHECK OUT WHAT I FOUND!!!
I have been hearing "CLICKING" for the past few months and could never locate the source! I found it! And it's big - looks like maybe 2"??? but I only saw his head! Pretty sure this is a pistol shrimp. Couldn't get the best pics but atleast I've finally seen him!
http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r...mer2009140.jpg
http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r...mer2009141.jpg
Also had my RBTA split today! Strange day all around!

Leah 09-14-2009 10:52 AM

I am pretty sure I have a pistol in my tank as well, although I have yet to see it!

fishytime 09-14-2009 01:27 PM
