Interestingly, or ironically (I'm not sure. maybe both??), the largest and smallest clams in my tanks are squamosas. This one here is MY "Big Bertha": http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/n...s/PC130032.jpg ... measuring in at .. I'm not sure actually. 14" maybe? It's like a football. He was a mere 5-6" when I purchased him 4 years ago. He has a commensal shrimp living inside him. Hard to photograph, here's the best attempt at capturing it so far: http://members.shaw.ca/hobiesailor/a..._squamosa1.jpg But also the smallest clam in my tanks (don't have a picture of it yet) is a 1" squamosa. He's similar to the yellow one on the right of the top picture below (the multicoloured spotted one in the focal point is also squamosa, for some reason I don't seem to have a photo featuring the yellow one yet): http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/n...s/PC130030.jpg And this is squamosa too: http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/n...s/PC130031.jpg |
how much do they run for Tony? I heart them incredibly so.

|
That's a beauty!
|
I agree, wicked maxima. :)
Randi, price seems to depend on size, and probably just how much they land in at. Red Coral's got them on for like $35 (I think, don't quote me) for the little ones. |
My only clam (everytime I add a new one my original dies and the new one thrives, go figure). Side shot showing the growth over the 8 months I've had the little fella, more than doubled in size and awsome coloring.

Thanks Tony.
I've got to head up there sometime this weekend and discus my new tank...(huzah) so I might just end up getting a clam too LOL |
Sweet clams everyone! Heres mine.

EDIT: This color loss from photobucket is p***ing me off!! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3.../croceatop.jpg |
That is really weird. The thing that confuses me though is that your first pictures show with intense colours and they're on photobucket too. I wonder if they've changed something, adding some kind of lossy compression or something?? Very odd. Maybe try uploading to the photo gallery here and try again?
