I took out the RDSB and put it in the tank.... the light seems to be alot brighter in the tank now... there is three phrases to the tank as is sits here.

problems with what?

SeaSerpant 01-08-2008 12:44 AM

Well with setting up the tank as in the water parameters did they spike or did you have a massive die off and things like that. What kind of water did you use for you aquarium did you use tap water with a declhorinator or distilled water?
Thanks!
SeaSerpant

Skimmerking 01-08-2008 02:04 AM

the tank has always been in this one , all i did was add sand to the tank with the rock in thet ank and I didnt have a problem from taking the sand from the Rdsb since the sand was only in the other tank for about 3 weeks if that. so I dont think that i had any die off just a few pods. I hope that answered your question

SeaSerpant 01-08-2008 02:15 AM

Yep thank you.

and this is the left side of the tank.
http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...d/DSC03721.jpg
I find it hard to take close ups or macro's shots how is every body doing it with thier camera
http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...d/DSC03728.jpg
and my one and only green acro with the crab in it....
http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...d/DSC03729.jpg

Delphinus 01-21-2008 03:52 AM

I have a hard time taking macros of clams .. basically I end up with a picture of about a 1" square section of the mantle. I just step back far enough to get the whole clam in the picture frame and then snap. One drawback, in order to prevent the reflection of the camera on the glass I take the picture at an angle, and this seems to slightly distort the image somewhat.

Tank looks great BTW :)

KennyKen 01-21-2008 04:39 AM

Great looking clams....
I wonder if i could get 8 in my 28g??? LOL

off topic, but are you really deploying in Feb? if so god bless ya,
and what is gonna happen with your tank. Hope you have someone reliable to keep your piece of paradise going.

Nice clam shots:mrgreen:

Doug 01-21-2008 01:52 PM

Mike, it does look different , now that I look closer. More room on the sandbed & I see some corals in different places. Must be a camera setting for the pic colours, as the sps pic does not show the brilliant green it really is.

Skimmerking 01-21-2008 02:11 PM

thanks for the kind words. Yes I just found out that i'm leaving in end Of Feb so i have a little longer home my family and friends. The tank runs it self and with the great help of my wife Tammy for feeding it and cleaning the dirty skimmer when it gets bad. And the biggest help is from DOug here the Moderator. Who has helped me get to where my tank is today so he is the backbone of my hobby and my tank. A truely excellent friend to have. He is going to be watching over my tank doing water changes every other week when he can. And testing my CAL and ALk and sort out the dosing. With out Doug I would Be lost. And when he gets bored he usaually takes corals from my tank. LoL

So Yes I have a great person taking care of my tank.....

I got soo many fist sized "frags" (more like colonies) that I don't know what to do with them.

I know I could sell them if I had time to get the camera out, but too busy lately.

Skimmerking 01-22-2008 01:42 AM

Well Ben I know that doug would get some from you. His tank is looking really good with the sps.
