Lots of great pics

This has been a super thread! Lots of great pictures. I am surprised at how many of us have bengal cats. Aren't they one of the best cats! I love my Jag. I make and sell healthy natural treats and food for a living... If anyone wants to know how to make some great treats from home just send me a pm and I'll share any ideas I have. If you have a some equipment like a dehydrator and a grinder you can make many great, healthy, natural treats that your furry friend will flip for.

I find my Bengals to be terrors 75% of the time they are awake. They are brother and sister from the same litter and a third Bengal I have had from the same parents. My female Bengal's name is Witch that was given to her by the breeder. The male cat is Kahn and he is just strange.

I find that if I don't leave enough food in their dish overnight they will tear open the garbage, open the fridge, and help themselves. They also open cupboards, tear open bags of oatmeal, and spread it all over the kitchen. Little bastards.

On the other end of the spectrum, they are very affectionate cats. Here is a pic of them at 2-3 weeks. The brown one is the female and I can't tell which one is the male in the litter.

Where are people in Calgary getting their Bengals?! I'd love one! After doing some research on them (prompted by this post), they definitely look like amazing cats.

I know it is not in Calgary but here is where I got my 2 cats from.

Troy F 02-25-2007 03:26 PM

Well thanks to this bulldog, I still don't have my reef set up. He recently tore his ACL and it set me back $1700 which coincided (approx) with my reef fund.

Got a red brindle whippet and a tabby cat who my step daughter claims is a girl with fuzzy dice on her bottom, my step son thinks he is satan himself (the cat is satan not the step son).

ps do kids count? if so, 2 boys and a girl.

Doug 03-01-2007 01:38 PM

 Hey Troy.

Good to hear from you, even in a pet thread. Get that reef tank going again.

Troy F 03-01-2007 11:29 PM

You too Doug. I've been itching to set up for a while but everytime I turn around something else needs to be fixed. I just did a new furnace last year and am waiting for Zeus' other knee to go before I spend any more.

BCOrchidGuy 03-02-2007 04:44 AM

Troy, I've got a 20 gallon tall you can have, nothing like a nice nano ya know.

Doug

Troy F 03-03-2007 01:13 AM

Hey, thanks for the offer Doug. I've got a 55galRR with lights, skimmer and a few other things (just added a Ca Reactor today) so I'm getting there. Only a thousand or so away from adding water...that and the time to build a stand.

BCOrchidGuy 03-05-2007 02:42 PM

I hear you there, always willing to help out. Good luck and lets hope for a winning lotto ticket.

Doug

Aww.. Archie is so adorable! Thanks for sharing. This is another breed you hardly see & most expensive. They got so much personality, I love my bulldog.Your doing something good, since English Bulldogs rarely make it to 11 years old! Any big health problems you encountered with Milo over the years?

Troy F 03-06-2007 01:54 AM

Pretty amazing that the english bulldog and the american pit bull terrier were once the same breed (kind of an over-simplified statement).

Zeus is ten fwiw, he was 9 in the picture.

Wow glad this was resurrected as I missed this question...

Archie is actually our 3ird bulldog; our first one (George) and Milo were both rescues.

George was from a puppy mill (stud) and was kenneled all of his 5 years except at breeding time…he was such a mess when the local humane society seized him, they deemed him unsalvageable and scheduled him for euthanization. He was a lot of work to get him back to health, but we had him for just over 5 years and he was one of the gentlest dogs I have ever owned.

Milo also was a rescue; he was poisoned and was not supposed to live. They had to do surgery on his stomach and when we got him he was just 1 year old and still had staples on his belly. Other than a couple little issues over the past 10 years, he has had nothing out of the ordinary.

Archie our newest addition to the family was after much heated discussion between my wife and I. I was leaning towards another rescue but she wanted a pup so she could see one grow up. After one trip to a local breeder I quickly lost any defense in that argument!

I have had a few different breeds of dogs over the years, but I can’t see life without owning a bulldog now, they have such a personality and for a dog that is built like a brick wall, they are very gentle.

Two cats, Cookie and Peaches. I think it's obvious which is which. Cookie (female) is 11 and Peaches (male) is 10.

LOL! My cat sleeps in the sink. If we turn the water on, he just moves, shakes himself off, and goes back to occupying it once we're done.

Unfortunately, since my last post, both the spiders have passed on  I think it was because they were near the window and this year it's drafty but the landlord "can't" fix it til spring. By the time we noticed the draft, it was too late.
