You didn't your tank right by going with the best combo for growth and pop. Good job thus far

Beautiful tank

Wow that is a nice tank!
It may be cheaper to fill the tank with money and put the RO line on the carpet instead of stocking it :)

smokinreefer 04-01-2017 01:22 AM

tang daddy 04-03-2017 08:05 PM

Looks good, are you putting in dry rock or live?

Was it your plan to go bare bottom or put sand in?

amberc12 04-04-2017 02:52 AM

Thank you! Hopefully I can live live up to the potential:lol:

oooo la la, me like eee! hindsight says the cutout should have been round and painted to look like a port hole. but still very jealous.

What will the First fish be?

Myka 04-05-2017 03:42 AM

Yes but then it wouldn't have been square...like me!!
Not sure on the fish yet...still up for debate!!

DKoKoMan 04-06-2017 04:41 AM

Looks great! I like the tiles as they ad a little bit of depth around the tank and clear sight lines.

amberc12 04-09-2017 10:18 PM

Yeah, such a good pic of me too!

How's the cycle going? Have you tested ammonia and nitrate yet?

Scythanith 04-10-2017 04:10 PM

Wouldn't be the worst idea to build some little supports that come out off the back of your stand to support the weight of the plumbing when it's full of water. Otherwise over time the lopsided load will pinch the seals in the bulkheads and you would get leaking. Just my 2 cents :) Exciting times though!

amberc12 04-10-2017 05:20 PM

Thanks everyone for your kind words!!

Yes we do have a support snuck in there if you look closely one of those pipes is not like the others:lol:

First tests are in....Ammonia between.25 and .5, nitrate between 10 and 25, 0 nitrite

Scythanith 04-10-2017 08:09 PM

I see the on long brace pipe from the floor to the bottom of the return pipes long horizontal run, but anything supporting the overflow pipes?

Not needed. The main drain is plumbed through bulkheads on both ends and is only 1" pipe and a little over 3 feet long, so there isn't a lot of weight. The other two are even shorter and won't see more than a dribble of water their entire lives unless something is wrong in which case they still won't weigh enough to need support. :)

Well it looks like the first fish is going to be a stupid pajama cardinal lol my husband insists, since he has been in everyone of our other tanks. Very close to adding him!! Couple more pics for you, one of them is with my newest toy!!
