So classy! Good thing you are a mod eh! Donkey cheese? Wonder what kind of wine pairs well with that?

 You guys have no sense of haha. That cheese happens to be the world's most expensive cheese also known as Pule Cheese. Check it out - it's VERY classy!

Gotta agree with alot of people here and all of you can say whiner all you want, but I dislike the new website. Its a pain in the rear to navigate on my iphone. I dont care how good the prices are, if I have to work and problem solve to get to a page I am not buying. Heck I had to use google just to get to the pumps sections.

Works well on my computer but 90% of my surfing and shopping is done on the couch while the mrs is watching TV.

Kinda harsh, I had no problems with the old site

gregzz4 11-15-2015 01:57 AM

Okee dokee ...
Lets try to be more productive here peeps

Bashing doesn't help the issue. Constructive criticism applies and whiney comments/posts are useless

AquaAddict 11-15-2015 03:19 AM

So far, I haven't had any problems with the new site.

Hey guys,

Hopefully many of you have noticed the changes we have implemented on our website, thanks in large part to the feedback we have received here. At the moment I'm very focused on the mobile experience of our website and I'd appreciate any feedback in that regard.

Thank you.

Jeff

I dont need to explain myself or answer to some key board cowboy who is hiding behind a screen name and has only been here a couple years. Come back when you have been on the forum for over a decade.

Guys, take it outside, k?

Myka 11-27-2015 01:42 PM

Hey, just noticed you guys have a "wishlist" now. Awesome, I can store items "to be ordered" there, and once I have a full list, I can move them to my shopping cart. Perfect. :)

davej 12-08-2015 08:52 PM

Just a heads up Jeff, in case you were not aware.
You no longer list any contact info on your site.
No phone numbers, no hours etc.

It's all listed under the CUSTOMER SERVICE TAB.

davej 12-09-2015 02:23 AM

New website is really bad.

That info was all missing earlier, back now, must be working on it.

Sidius 12-09-2015 04:34 PM

I've noticed that whenever I try to navigate using my mobile phone (Android), I can't seem to view any pages. It doesn't seem to matter if I search or browse through the side menu, it returns a page that says "There are no products matching the selection". As an example, I knew you carried the Vertex Puratek RO/DI system and I wanted to check the price. When I click on RO/DI water filters from the side menu on my phone, I get that page. When I click that on my PC, it loads fine and shows me all the RO/DI filters you sell. I also noticed the same problem all through black friday when trying to see what you had announced would be on-sale that day. It basically means I can't shop from my phone because I can't get anything to load. Just a heads up because I know a lot of people do shop online from their phones these days.

Christopher 12-09-2015 04:51 PM

I have the same issue can't view any items from your website on my iPhone.

Reef-Geek 12-09-2015 07:20 PM

The new site is REALLY REALLY SLOW, please fix it.

gmann 12-09-2015 08:32 PM

On I phone you have to browse in "private browsing" it has something to do with the site storing bad cookies that it always bounces to that page. I don't know if you can do something similar on android or just clear your cashe and cookies.

jlaquatics 12-09-2015 09:58 PM

Hey guys,

We are currently working on improving the site speed and have made changes yesterday evening & today and this may be related to the issues you have experienced.

As for the mobile browsing and items/products not showing up, I'm not able to recreate that in the store today on our phones. Perhaps those that are having issues need to clear their caches, as some changes that we have made will require that for optimal operation. Let me know.

Feel free to contact me directly at the shop so I can try to troubleshoot individual cases.

Thanks for the patience!

Jeff

What I hate most about the site at this point in its development is that finding prices on corals requires sooooo much effort and time because now there are over a hundred pages of "image coming soon" to flip through. Its a real PITA compared to the very simple pricing system with sample images that was used in the earlier website. In general, corals are so diverse that other than your NEW & NOTEWORTHY specimens, or WYSIWYG corals, having the stock images will NOT really let buyers know what they are really getting in terms of corals that are in stock in the store.

You should include "cheat-sheet" pages similar to the price lists you have in the fish room so online buyers can quickly scan to see what the prices will be for different corals and fish that are not on the New & Noteworthy page. Just a suggestion.

Website won't take orders

Tried entering an order this morning on iPad but got the 'forever updating' blank screen.

Tried 3x on PC with cc but it just keeps returning a 'server error'. Yes, this is after clearing my cache.
Then I tried with PayPal just to see if the system only goes mental with credit cards...nope...it persists with PayPal but at least I get a different 'something went wrong' error: It asked if I would like to Kill the Page or retry.

I was only able to click once on the offer to Kill the Page but if I could it would have been clicked 100x

What's next?
Maybe I should bow to the East while rattling chicken bones and burning incense THEN click 'checkout'?

Hopefully you can get this fixed today or at least honour the 'deal of the day' if not fixed in time to order it.

i had the same problem this morning during checkout. hopefully i can get to a phone today was checked in as well

fixerupper 12-10-2015 05:57 PM

Mystery solved

I just received a call from Jeff.
A call! I wasn't aware anyone still did that...

It appears that their online ordering system was indeed broken after recent changes. He called to handle my order over the phone. Very nice.
It's good to see good service is alive and well. Thanks Jeff.

jlaquatics 12-10-2015 08:38 PM

To SeaHorse_Fanatic: Thanks for the feedback. Indeed our online livestock setup is not finished and the design of the software prevents us from making changes easily at the moment. Much of the livestock system will be fixed up at some point in the future. At the moment we are working on the other more pressing fixes that need to be implemented.

To Fixerupper, babnika, Fishman:

It's true that we managed to break our payment system while making other changes in the back end yesterday afternoon. All normal services have been restored, and work on performance enhancement and the other requested changes is ongoing.

Thanks again to all for their patience.
