I find it educational that there have yet to be any positive reviews. Hmmmmm:wink:

I have purchased several items from two separate vendors on the site, the majority from the Vanderluis's and one RFA from Colby@Bayside Corals. All were exactly as featured in the photos as far as size and color/pattern and one was way more than expected in coloration and size/amount.
That being said, I haven't purchased any SPS and I am relatively new to the hobby. I purchased some RFA's, a torch, and the spectacular Blue/orange mushroom colony(10-15 heads as advertised) that I bought for $90 with more than 25 heads on it. Maybe that kinda stuff goes for cheap on the west coast but the RFA's I have seen locally (when and if we get any) are half the quality and much more than I paid. Anyways,...that's my 2 cents. I found the site a month ago. |

There ya go a little kink in the armour of the "west coast assault team" |

As for you two ( I was told I cannot use their real names but you know who it's referring to) take this as constructive criticism so that you can do a better job in running your FB site. Just use your own pics instead of borrowing other people's pics and making it your own and labelling it wysiwyg when they are not so. That's all. |

I can't believe these two still have a following.. I along with others I'm our area have dealt or been scammed buy them. What a shame..

I am not a coral vendor, however I do have a camera and photobucket.
If you are selling a coral why not take your own picture and post it unedited. WYSIWYG - It's hard to bitch and complain when you receive a piece that looks like the picture. IMO you have a valid complaint when size, shape, and colour are all way off on the doorstep. |

In all fairness, I've received SPS frags from all over the country and the shape of a WYSIWYG piece doesn't change obviously, but the color can definitely change during shipping. Things like colored corallites or tips can wash out. I've had many pieces show up almost completely browned out (or dead white lol) in the same shipment as pieces that look like nothing ever happened - even shipments which contained doubles of the same piece! It's the nature of the SPS game.
The picture of that Monti has absolutely been adjusted - it wasn't just cropped. I usually have to do some adjusting to my own pics to try to get the color true to life, but my pictures are NEVER as good as the corals appear in person. Drives me bonkers. |

I received an order from said supplier and I didn't necessarily have a problem with the order but I wasn't expecting WYSIWYG pieces. Maybe I just wasn't paying attention but I was expecting a frag of the coral in the photo but not the exact piece in the photo. I've always just figured that in most cases the frags you get aren't always part of the same system the mother colony is thriving in and may not be showing the best color yet. I expect them to eventually turn that color though if I'm doing my part. I was disappointed in the size of the frags I received especially for the price but I haven't seen the regular availability for these pieces in the west so I was willing to pay a bit more for them and wasn't bothered enough at the time to complain. I definitely agree that their pictures appear photoshopped, the spam is annoying, and they could definitely be a lot more transparent when it comes to answering questions and making people feel more comfortable about their product. I certainly wouldn't call them fellow hobbyists though. They are a retailer any way you skin it and an expensive one at that so make sure you know what you're getting into before ordering from them.

trying to be all stealthy. "Yeah I gave them permission" Hmmmmm........... |
They may play those games on face book they did on coral hoarders but think it's a little harder on Canreef with brad on patrol.
|
Once again, they just ignore the comments...
They can't delete them here or on coral hoarders facebook. So they are kinda screwed... but your right!! Truth hurts |

I think we should give them a chance to explain themselves and hopefully they will. I realize people have taken this thread and ran with it but I have done quite a bit of personal communication with these people during my order 4 months ago and they both seemed very helpful and accommodating throughout the whole process. How they handle it from here on is up to them.
|
They won't show up here and explain themselves because here they can't delete the comments that they don't like. They only have something to say where they are in control and can sway the outcome of how they are perceived by deleting the negative comments.

I'll be back....Gonna get me some popcorn!
