No but seriously, I find myself waking up at 5am with a flash light to feed my corals, this was a new routine for me. Because my atinics come on from 3pm till 3am I find myself tinkering with the tank at all hours of the early morning. It's a lot easier to do maintenance and enjoy the peace later in the am since most people are fast asleep.

Hahah classic. Im sure the corals dont mind powedered sugar in the middle of the night.

Made lots of mistakes since the 70,s but this always sticks out, {no pun intended}, as my most embarrassing. Its when I had my 225g downstairs in wall. 30in deep and 30in across.

So I head downstairs for a shower. Hmm that stupid frag has fallen over again and its near the front. I should put it back before showering. Take my housecoat of. Buck naked, nobody down there right. Into the tank, up to the arm pits I go. Move the frag. Only thing sticking out is my fat arse butt. Ewwwwwwwwwwww

Pull myself outta the tank and my wife is standing behind me, peeing herself laughing at the site..Ewwwwwwwwwwww

Thank heavens it was before Iphones and Facebook..

Spending money on boring common corals that are now so large you've got no room for the cool high-end stuff you really want.

Buying fish for the size they are they day you get them, not the size they will be when they're over-fed, borderline obese adults.

buying fish that won't eat pellets and need frozen food every day (a real PITA when you want to go out of town)

Sprinkling salt over my tank to increase SG
Leaving a hose (for water changes) hanging out of my tank and walking away

Buying that purdy sea apple and putting it our first tank, a 40 gallon bowfront. End of story. Eventual end of tank.

Aquattro 11-05-2013 07:33 PM

Worrying about whether some label is counterfeit :)

Haha

Taking people's worries about said label seriously and spending hours looking up electrical codes.

Treebeard 11-05-2013 07:37 PM

It died while we were on vacation and nuked the tank.

Last time I tested pH it was fine. That was 2006, but I'm sure it's still good.

Well I have a few about 10 years ago.

1, Laughing when my mother in law got a face full of water from an 8" maxima squirting her. Could have died on that one. LoL

2. Putting a 5" Volitans lionfish in with a 4" frogfish. The frogfish had it swallowed as far as the first dorsal fin. It eventually spat out the lionfish and everyone lived happily after.

Wow. They are so pretty until you learn about them. It helps me to think of them as the round black bombs with a fuse that you see in cartoons.

That's awesome that you think answering questions for your customers is stupid!

I do find it a little stupid to spend large amounts of time to prove something that is known to be true as truth because of some silly goose starting a rumor about falsified certificates.

But it also seems to be something that was called for.. But as much as it is an annoyance i don't see the others who sell these pumps going to the hassle of confirming these certifications.

1.New to the trade and the first fish you buy is a mandarin dragonet
2. Upgrading your tank for this fish.
3. Letting a aquarist give you your first coral free.

My family thinks I'm a drug addict because of this hobby
