I see you've got your wife trained. She's laying down, sideways, holding a hose. HAWT.

What's the hydroton for ?

Ah, you're using it as bio/bacteria media. Cool!

Curious about the hydroton. I had never heard of it so looked it up. Seems pretty cheap, esp compared to either the fluval rings or the eheim substrat. Does the hydroton work as well as those but is cheaper, or does it actually work better? Sounds like it would be a great option for setting up a QT.

Cheaper, doesn't plug up with detritus, it's very porous, perfect for a qt because you just boil it to sterilize it when your done and reuse it. I seed it with my big tank in case I need to setup a qt then just swap reactors, I have 2 vertex reactors full so I can pull one off to speed up cycling on other tanks

Starting to shut my nano down...
I lost the battle of bryopsis so ill be dipping and quarantining and eventually transferring all my brown/half dead sticks to her tank so they can recover

I know you've made your mind up, but ...

If it's bryopsis, why not try some lettuce nudis ?
I put 4 in my tank last year and although I lost 2 to MP10 suicides, I still have 2 and have not seen any bryopsis since probably last x-mas
I guess there's either some unseen bryopsis, or enough other food for them to live on, and they're still green

I've been wanting to plumb my nano into my frag tank and I don't want to risk getting anything in my frag tank so I figure completely sterilizing it is the way to go

And the wife already called dibs on all my coral
