not any hotter then would be normal. The fan in picture was existing already before lamp went in.

They are dimmable with a standard dimmer switch and the goosenecks are 24" to the end of the flexible neck so overall is about 30" clamp to bulb.

yeah, that's why I mentioned that the fan was an optical illusion. That fan is in a different compartment completely...I just used it during the summer to blow over the return area and never took it down yet. :) Sorry for the confusion. Lamp stays pretty cool as the heat sink is huge on it.

Here is a pic that a customer has shared with our par light above his nano tank.

Feel free to share your own as i am looking to start up a customer photo album in the coming weeks.

I am setting up a frag tank, 26" long, 14" deep and 12" high. How many of these reef lights would I need over it? What kind of corals would they be capable of sustaining?

nrosdal 10-22-2013 05:53 PM

you would be able to keep almost anything under them in a shallow tank like you described. You would need 2 for sure to get coverage. But for anything over 16" in length i would recommend jumping up to a D120 LED as you will get much more power and will be able to cover the area with only 1 fixture and it would allow for dimming of each channel individually (blue and white). But if you are wanting to go with the PARs i would try 2 and see how it looks (i hung 2 above my 24" clown tank and it covered nicely).

Is the only difference between the D120 and the IT2040 is the IT2040s have built in controllers? Do you have both models in stock?

nrosdal 10-22-2013 06:32 PM

The d120 and it2040 are same power/driver/leds difference is the built in controller.

d120s and pars are here now and controllable units arriving by end of week. All units are going out the door pretty fast but shipments come every week so there is never more then a few days before more come if ever out.
