Like I said, RDO is one of the only aquarium board that allows that in their lounge. If you're up to a challenge, have at them. You will get all you can handle over there.

O am I wrong on this one as well?

Sorry, lost focus with all that, stopped here. Yup, you're wrong. See the page you agreed to when you signed up. We can remove anything for any reason, just because. Freedom of speech applies to the street corner, not private property, which is where you are currently. You are a guest here, and will post as per our (sometimes) changing guidelines or guest privileges will be revoked.
All pretty simple. To be clear, we will not allow posts concerning religion or politics, or any topic likely to breed hostility and become offense to one or more members of this board. This "any topic" category is subject to our discretion upon review by one or more staff members.

.

I don't think this is about freedom of speech. This is about "rules of conduct" in a place that is privately owned and operated. It's no different than a restaurant or any other local business. The business owner owns that facility. You are welcome to come so long as you adhere to their rules. They always reserve the right to deny you business. It is their place, not yours, not the public's.

Edit: Try arguing "freedom of speech" when a bouncer kicks you out of their night club for being a D-bag :-)

Can't agree more :)

Politics and religion along with other "argumentative" topics are always extremely subjective. "Knowledge" and "belief" are two open-ended senses (other than the five default senses) for which people are always arguing, debating, fighting, etc. And this forum is particularly for aquatic lives and those two senses can only be applicable to the proper topics only. Yet again, sometimes, things can go out of control with things related to the forum itself and that's why this forum has great moderators who, I believe, is not biased in any form and always carry out the right decision.

Yes sometimes, one might not like what a moderator said/did and that's totally understandable; everyone is subjective to their own opinion. But at the end, they are the "moderator" a.k.a the administration of this forum and they have every rights in their hand. One simply doesn't go around talking on the face of the boss/admin in an office without getting fired :)

This forum has given me a base where I can share ideas without any sort of political/religious/hatred topic based involvement and I will strongly stand for this cause :)

Sorry for saying these things despite not being a very old/reputed member but this is what I would call freedom of speech and this is what moderators will, I believe, call freedom of speech and will not flame it :) I guess I have presented my case of freedom of speech :)

To answer the original question:

"Lounge (24 Viewing)
Anything off topic (i.e. doesn't fit in other forums) and non-commercial (subject to Staff's discretion), but please keep it civil and exercise common sense. NO RELIGION/POLITICS (this includes war topics), no offensive material, no items for sale and don't give stuff away. No store reviews are allowed."
