I have used a lower grade when building or re sealing a tank with no worries however it isn't worth the risk to save a couple bucks... baffles in a sump should be good with anything that is not " kitchen and bath " as those contain algae inhibitors ... the window and door stuff is what I have on hand for basic mods ... still a quality brand , just no additives.
