Zeovit for me. I use carbon passively in a mesh bag in my sump.

Marineland Magnum most of the time. I also have some BRS that I like to.

I'm using rox 1.3 from Eli.

BRS Rox 0.8 for almost two years now without any issues. Love this stuff. I used to use Rowaphos before this and I HATED that stuff. Pain in the ass to rinse out and prep for the reactor. The Rox stuff still needs a bit of rinsing but doesn't take nearly as long to prep.

EDIT: Oops, getting my chems mixed up LOL. I meant that I previously used generic carbons from the LFS and Rowaphos. Rowaphos is a GFO not a carbon. Although rinsing that stuff is a pain, and rinsing the generic carbon was a pain as well!

hahah you are away from this hobby for so long. Anyway, I also use BRS rox 0.8 and has no problem for 2 years. I threw out my LFS carbon because they take longer to rinse and does not perform well against Rox.

Kent right now, but I have a bag of Vertex Rox 0.8 for when I'm out of the Kent.

BRS Rox 0.8 carbon

Even before rinsing, I find Fluval has quite a bit of smaller pieces, so it tends to compact easily
Maybe I should try running it through a sieve or net first to get more uniform pieces

Thanks for all the input everyone
I guess price will decide for me

I ran that for years with no problems too.

But now I use Kent carbon. I know they had a crappy deal in the past, but I've been using it for over a year now with no problems, and good results. I also like that it is bigger clumps, so it's not as messy in the reactor.

Be careful with Kent... I had a couple bad years of SPS death, could not figure it out, until I took out the carbon and ran without. VOILA! SPS started recovering... Didn't figure out why though, until I decided to run carbon again, and had my Kent stuff. Put it back in and within a couple weeks, started having major RTN issues again.

I didn't have any Kent from the recall, but have decided this stuff is just garbage.

Was running Zeovit, now using Vertex ROX. Love the stuff and no issues. My tank looks incredible now. About time I say!

Brightwell Aquatics. Switching to BRS when I run out.

I went the other way...I ran Kent for years, then BRS for about a year, and now Brightwell Aquatics for about 6 months. I like the Brightwell Aquatics the best. It is a great line of products, I'm a big fan.
