you may wanna be careful using "phosguard".....especially after you get some corals in there....it is an aluminum based product and some corals dont react well to it....a better choice would be "rowaphos", or any other GFO
|
Any idea as to what species are sensitive? Is the Al released into water colum?

Ahhh the the battle against algaeda insurgence continues in my tank. . . Scrubbed a bunch off rock. this morning. Now we wait and see how the regrowth goes.

And come to think of it how about your tank there, bud? |
Well, spent Saturday flooding my house with 50+ gallons of water. WOOHOO. My wife luvs me so much. Using a python (sink in Kitchen) to drain my tank for water change (living room) when a cloth "fell" into the sink plugging the drain. Did not notice till i heard the Waterfall. DAMMIT!
Scrubbed algae from rock, and slapped my protein skimmer about. I love salt tanks. |
Ouch...your better half must be thrilled! haha. She loves the tanks too...is she taking part in this one or are you on your own maintaining the salt tank?
|
Well. It is hot as hell. So I changed my light cycle to 6 hours starting at 4:30am in order to keep heat to a minimum. Seems to be ok. Still fighting the dam skunge surge I started when I cleaned the very dirty tank. I'm considering replacement of the substrate and media completely. I am just not 100% on it.
|
Doing a full replacement of the substrate can be a tough one. I can't remember if you have any sand sifters or not...but if not, going bare bottom could help you control your problems and you could always figure out a solution to the "look" later.
