The Anthias has been laying on its side for 2 days now, I cant get him to eat anything. He is so placid that I was able to actually pick him up with my hands to inspect him. The most movement I have seen out of him in weeks was today when a hermit crab grabbed on to his tail, and even then it certainly wasnt vigorous. The fact that the crabs are already considering him lunch does not bode well.
I am so frustrated and afraid for not only this fish, but the others. If it is a parasite will it not leave the host as soon as it is dead? Any ideas? Wish my vet took care of tropical fish! Beth |
Fish Help
I don't know if this will help at all, but do you have good surface agitation on your tank, as well as a good source of oxygen in the water?
If you have a skimmer that should be enough to introduce oxygen and promote gas exchange. It is a long shot, but fish that are not doing well may not be 'breathing' well... (so to speak) RW |
All the other fish are fine, and I have a skimmer, a canister filter, a 1200 pump, and 2 106 powerheads. I think oxygen is OK. corals are great too. Brings me back to my parasite fear, just dont knwo what else would only affect 2 of 8 fish.
