Haha, funny, I meant the spider looking thing with the helmet in the second pic...looks like one of those deep sea diving rigs on it's head or for a head??

I always told ppl I was a coral guy but I treat my new maculiceps like some would a new puppy! My interest in the hobby is at an all-time high since getting him. I spent 4 hours rescaping and simplifying the tank layout around his swimming needs yesterday. Just got him eating NLS pellets today and his personality is starting to show. My new goal is to hand feed my gentle giant.
Fav coral is a bright blue sps brad (abcha0s) gave me. Unsure of Id but after months of no change it has started sprouting branches in the new tank. I watch it so closely I know how much it grows week to week no prob! |
I love all my fish equally, although I go to extra lengths to keep my Marine Betta and the other fish are glad because they get meaty foods at least every other day :)
http://www.mattdean.com/build/betty.jpg I was told i would never see it and may rarely see it eat. Well, it hides very little and eats very well. Here's a video of her eating. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O4gdm2L7Wes |
Love all my little gobies/blenny's and pipefish and I love my frogfish and fu-manchu lionfish as well as I think my King angel is the most beautiful SW fish and pretty much all my fish, lyretail hawkfish is so cool but my favorite is my cowfish

moorish idol. I've sold 3 other fish so far just because they looked at him the wrong way.

After I read Aquarium Corals by Borenman I really wanted a Platygyra with purple walls and green valleys. It took me about 3 years and nearly $300 to find the specimen that matched the colours and growth form that I was after. I bought and later sold 3 different corals just because they looked close and I thought that would satisfy my craving. Once I finally found the one that I was truly after I nearly lost the entire colony on the two day drive home because it didn't have enough water in its bag. But 1/2 of it survived and is doing well to this day. If I were to have only a single massive coral in my tank this would be it.
