I agree with that, restart isn't even an option, it's just how many times i need to pull the impeller housing off to get it going again

thats type of design you could easily put a couple of smaller pumps and rock that skimmer like 2 ehiems would do good too

I like the idea with the Bubble Blasters, I looked at them awhile ago, I'll probably do it in a bit once my fish budget recovers from boxing day.

I have to agree with you as its mostly the pump that makes a skimmer as well as the design. An Askoll skimmer pump would be my first choice then probably an Eheim. I have noticed the higher end skimmers are nicer constructed and made with thicker acrylic as well.

I have a very heavy bioload with too much fish and corals plus overfeeding too, I don't mind to go a little bit over skim for my tank, and my budget is no more than $250 for the used one. Oh, and definitely no restart issue.

Casey you are looking in a small range however I think for you a SWC 160 come is a good skimmer small foot print super quiet and it's made like a bullet. Another skimmer that u could get is
