As for your shrimp, how does Stenopus zanzibaricus sound? The colouring seems to be a giveaway, but I'm not sure about the body shape of your shrimp. Here's a scan from one of my books.

After consulting my slim volume appropriately named "Armoured Knights of the Sea" by Helmut Debelius I have come up with an ID. They are all Boxer Shrimp. The common everyday one is Stenopus hispidus, The picture Sam provided is Stenopus scutellatum from the Caribbean, mine is Stenopus zanzibaricus from the Indian Ocean. :biggrin:

Only very vaguely. Mine has white claws,(actually I see some light red in them) and hind four legs are half red as are the antennae. :confused:
