will probably get there on tuesday (slowed down by the long weekend)

but i dont know what you'd do with this tank.... its so high that light would have a hard time reaching that far down

That's why I said NPS tank! Add a few deep water angelfish and a plankton reactor and you've got the makings of a badass tank.

NPS means non-photosynthesis?

ScubaSteve 04-23-2011 05:13 PM

Ya dude. Non-Photosynthetic. Do a tank of suns, vendors, nepthea, gorgs, all them funky critters. Check out something like this. Get some scorpion or leaflish, or deepwater angels and you'd be golden. You could even set lights up on the top part of the reef and have softies and LPS up top.

I have seen several tanks that are 36" tall full of coral of all kinds, I dont see what the issue is with it being 32".

MarkoD 04-23-2011 08:58 PM

hmmmm i've never seen it.

We have a tank like that and we have some really nice SPS and LPS and our clams are in the sand and all are doing great, so it can be done.

Your not looking hard enough & even if there are not many at 36" there are a ton of 30" tall tanks that do very well, an extra 2" is not enough to make big difference.
