Hey Sam,
The Shrimp you listed is the Caribbean Yellow Boxer Shrimp Stenopus scutellatus 4cm I rarely see this one, The Yellow Boxer shrimp that usually shows up in stores is the Blue legged yellow boxer shrimp Stenopus cyanoscelis 3cm It often comes from the Phillipines and it is smaller than the regular Coral banded shrimp Stenopus hispidus 5cm |
Perhaps that's why the subject I saw at that store was so small then.
I figured it was just immature and would change colour as it grew. I don't know alot about CBS, except they have a tendency toward aggressiveness. I would say the size of the one I saw was about 2/3 that of any regular Coral Banded I've seen at Paul's or Big Al's. But again, it appeared very similar to that picture in it's colour and actually looked rather attractive. Good luck with your research on it. |
This is what it looks like: Stenopus cyanoscelis

Thanks everyone for all the info. Here's a new one for me. What's this guy? It has red antennae.

Coral Banded Shrimp
I have a large CBS and he certainly rules the tank. He quickly becomes the center of attraction whenever we have visitors.

Might be a little late but I saw a yellow CBS at King Ed's the other day.

Well it is now almost two weeks, and I have yet to see my new S. zanzibaricus. I know he is in there because I saw him when I was moving some rocks. However, he has yet to come into the open.
|
It is now the 11th of February, and I still have not seen him. Does anyone who has one of these ever see it
