could have been float and epsom salt is the best cure. They can get float any time they are stressed. I had one that was 13" and my smallest were 5" and they all benifit from addition of epsom salt on regular basis in the water. I never had a single case of float in a year and half and the previous owner of the 13" always had float problem. For frontosas, epson salt if nearly a requirement.

The Frontosa tragically died on me for a completely unknown reason about a half a year ago :( He was so gorgeous too. Had him for like 2 years and then he bit the dust after a water change one day. So weird cause no one else showed any ill effects and even he didnt show any ill effects.

I dont think he had float as he was low in the tank his last few days. Not like at the substrate. But cruising around at lower depths, as per normal. Definitely wish I still had him, he was spectacular.
