My old tank had a white. loved the look but algae really stood out on it

good reason to keep it clean

Keep it clean and black. It frames the corals better and makes the colors pop. If you're into that nice looking corals kind of thing.

midnight blue. almost black but still blue.

I did my tank in white....I like it....makes it very bright.

definitely let me know when to pull out the razor.

I've had both and I prefer blue but it really boils down to what you like yourself since taste is a rather personal thing. You are the one that will see it every day so make it what you like and don't get caught up in worrying about the opinions of others.
