4G's for clubs, guess he is pretty good.

I still have a tough time spending $3 per ball on the used Pro V1's.

hehe ya I don't understand it either, but he doesent understand paying the money we do for fish either :mrgreen: but he does play in tourneys all the time and golf's about 4 times a week or more.

Great game and I do it ocasionaly but you sure need to be wealthy to play.
Or just not have a reef tank.

My addiction to golf is going on 35 years or so. I play as often as I can and even host 2 tourneys a year. Just remember that golf is a game that is truly learned by few. If the game gets too frustrating, take a lesson or two. It is probaly cheaper than continually chunking balls into the water hazards. :lol:

I love golf i play 4 times a week.I'm a 7 handicap.I use taylor made clubs.Actually i have a set of taylor made graphic irons for sale.Golf is the next best sport to hockey. :mrgreen:

Quinn, if you can find decent clubs suited to your size, swing, etc, then you'll be miles ahead. Try to find a smaller pro shop/school where they don't take themselves too seriously... And a half-dozen lessons to get you started will make it WAY more enjoyable, and avoid the water-hazard chunking and other pitfalls, for sure. :biggrin:

You've got a pile of good advice here, grasshopper. Have fun - there's nothing like connecting well and seeing that little ball disappear into the distance...

(Added bonus: Happy Gilmore is the finest golf movie ever made. Gotta watch that one a few times to get you going.)

Golf does not have to be expensive. I have been a volunteer at the Whistler Golf Course for over 8 seasons. Look at some of your local courses and see if they have or if you have the time to be a volly. Many courses offer such a program with a commitment of between 4-8 hrs per week, and includes free golf, discounted lessons, retail, etc.

I had my clubs made for me about 5 years ago and still going strong!

Sorry Alan, but I think that Happy Gilmore takes an extremely close second to Caddyshack, still a classic!

Although I have to admit, you would be hard pressed to find a scene as funny as the one between Bob Barker and Adam Sandler! (Filmed just down the highway from me at Furry Creek Golf Course)
