Klaus would never use tape. He'd CNC micro-thin strips out of 12" thick red pvc and apply an adhesive. The tape market should remain stable!

If you have any of the 'brew on premises' beer making businesses in Sask or Alta, they will also be a good source for large plastic, food grade barrels. They have malt & adjunct in the barrels and once they're empty, they don't reuse them. Can usually pick one up for about $40 here in Vernon, but could differ depending on where you go. I also picked up a plastic drum sold as a rain barrel from a local garden center, it contained glycerine, a byproduct of bio fuel, so vegetable based. That one only cost me around $20. The container is also food safe I think, just needs to be rinsed out real well.
