Be real people, Some things just suck.

not everything is jello covered in teddybears

Okay so we shouldn't try right? We just grab a shovel and hit it over the head and throw it out back? When WE are the ones who created the reason for it to end up in his garage by cutting down its home.
Wow some people never cease to amaze me!!

you're just one big softie, aren't you? Hope you take more care with your tank.
In my world, everything is jello covered in teddy bears(= good thing, right?). Catch the poor thing, give it some food and find it a home.

Sounds to me like coincidentally HAS tried! what are the chances of any of those organizations coming to get the animal then finding a good home for it? They will come and put on a show and catch the animal humanely then as soon as they are on a mountain road they will hit the eject button and launch the poor ****er off the side of a mountain( exaggerating of course)
I take it you have never had to de-quill a dog that got into a porcupine? 300+ needles in the face, palate, tongue, throat. Sure its the dogs fault for screwin with mr. pokey but sure as **** the dog is going to come to me for assistance. If you kill it and leave it on the mountain, the circle of life will be complete. if you don't know what that is go watch the Lion King

And Thanks, I think your amazing too!!

I take very excellent care of my tank, 30-60g water changes every week, feed every other day, clean the glass, renovated my house to accomodate the tank etc etc etc. There are bitter truths about some things, whether you want to face it or not.

I really hope that everything works out and you find a home for the cuddly little devil, last I heard porcupines make great pets.

Good thing we don't treat people with the same compassion as you do animals:(

Good luck Coincidentally i really hope you have a happy outcome:)

your one of those people who would swerve on the highway to miss a gopher, only to skid into the ditch and total your vehicle. All the while saying I'm so glad he's okay, arent you?

And you forget that this is animal. Singular, more specifically a porcupine. I hate them, but they do have cute faces.

I love animals, Cats, dogs, birds, fish etc etc. I'm trying to give a realistic idea of whats going to happen.

Go hug a tree

P.s. when you hug the tree i hope you get sap on you lol jj

Here is another avenue that you may try. Call your local newspaper. They love to eat stuff like this up when the proper Government ppl aren't doing there job.
I used to work at the SPCA and it is Wildlife Controls issue when it comes to anything "WILD" So they should b out there with a trap for it to trap it humanly without injury to you or it.

actualy it wouldn't be there job, it would be the owners responcibility to get rid of it if it is on privat property.. best thing you could probaby do is call a pest removal company.. they might be able to at least stear you in the right direction.. might cost a bit but if you don't want to atempt it your self..

I used to rent a farm and we did things a bit differnetly.. but it was the porcupine or rish the pain to my dog if I let it stick around.. and if I tried to relocated it I would probably be the one that ended up being shot byy the farmer whos land I relocated it to.. guess growing up on a farm gives you different ideas that if you grew up in the city looking at pests on some one elses property. now I wouldn't say beet it with a shovel, that is kinda cruel, and you can shoot a shot gun in a residential area, sooo you are left with baiting it out and relocating it to goverment land or poision..

personaly in your situation I would try trapping it but make sure you drive a hell of a long ways away as it will comeback if it is close enough..

So what happened with the porcupine? I promise not to say anything after I am told

Coincidentally 07-27-2009 04:40 PM

The porcupine left with some slight coaxing of salt covered tomatoes and waited until dark. We could not find anything large enough (he was huge) to trap him and there were no humane (didn't try any non-humane) pest control companies that will deal with porcupines in my area or any area close by. I did get some good pictures of him but I cannot seem to upload them here...My daughter also collected a whole lot of quills and is very excited about show and telling them.
