Anyone know how Chestermere's water is? We just moved out here and setup the tank using tap water (r/o soon) and I thought Calgary water was bad. I'm sure this is worse it's undrinkable.

I find Calgary water at 140-170, but usually in the 140's

TVR 06-11-2009 12:58 PM

Yep. My test weekly mostly give out 1.38 to 1.45 intake

sitandwatch 06-11-2009 03:21 PM

Yup its blue and white and about 15bucks thats all I remember about it

I get around 140-180ppm, however I find that it varies within a day depending on when your testing, lower numbers at night for me.

Tyson 06-12-2009 07:43 PM

Just now 135ppm in the SE.

I live in the north of Calgary and mine is always hovering between 170 to 200 ppm from the tap.

Im fairly new to the Marine fishkeeping hobby. Is there something bad about using Calgary water for a FOWLR tank? is a RO/DI unit a necessity? does the hardness of calgary water not help buffer pH? of is it too much?
