1/2" is plenty for 21x21x21. Not sure what that will run you locally though.

What about 20x20x18 rimless?

What height or dimensions would I have to go down to in order to get away with 1/4" glass? or 3/8"?

What is the best place in Vancouver to get glass? I have gone to a few places in the past but they were quite expensive.

Also, is there a standard tank (other than the Solana or Nano cubes) that is close in dimensions to this? Doesn't have to be rimless necessarily.

I put together a 24 x 24 x 30 cube 3 sides starphire. Cost me $650 in glass It is polished and has 8 holes though.
Still want to put this up at some time.

I want to change it out with this one 16.5 x 18.5 x 20 made with 3/8" temp.
I might part with it by itself but I have a refugium hooked to it as well on a custom stand that should go as a unit.

I have a small sump as well if you are interested that I can sell you if you want one it is about 10 x 10 x 10 tempered as well with one 2-1/2" bulkhead and two 1/2" bulkheads. Not using that right now.

Marlin thats a very nice tank!

Would probably be a bit bigger than I can fit though. I have to stay under 21" long. The tank is going in a little area in the wall that is about 21 1/4" wide.

You will not be able to see the two sides either, so starphire on the sides is kind of useless.

Thanks for the offer though...it's a very nice tank!

In the end, I may just go with a Nano cube although I just am not a huge fan of the look.

when doing tank measurements how much space do you give yourself. Like if i wanted a 20x20x18 tank with 1/4in glass would it be like 201/4 cuts?? Do you have to measure extra for the silicone?

I think most tank builders, build tanks with the dimensions to the outside edge of the glass, would just have to request that the dimensions are what you want inside the glass.

Has anyone bought the tanks at fishworld in Surrey

I was thinking of getting one from there.

What dimensions and how much?

Pretty much anything you want

But price depends on the size of the tank. Ask for Nick 604 514-34-74

the front and back pieces would be 20 X 18 the sides would be 19 3/4 X 18

silicone should only be 1 or 2 mm thick so the throw out wont be noticable

but if your getting someone to build it just tell them the dimentions.

if your going rimless deffently sandwich the sides around the bottem. it looks much better.
