Not too bad.....

Well my rock smelled like death. I don't think I'll ever do it again.

Is there any point to cooking the rock after it's been boiled? Everything is dead at that point is it not? I would clean off all the algae and throw it in the tank and see if there is a cycle, then add a few live pieces to re-seed.
