No water noise whatsoever. The noisiest part of the system is the SQWD. It chatters. The pumps make some noise too but I am used to that already.

According to http://www.ushio.com/files/Aqualite.pdf you actually want a M58 for the Ushio 10000K 250W. Unless there's still an advantage for using the pulse-starts still? I know the other wattages in the moguls want pulse-start but this one always stuck out at me, they say M58 not M138.

Have been talking a some people that have had problems starting the ushios on a 250W reg ballast. Then swtiched to a pulse start. No problems anymore. I have one laying around so....

So how do you have your fans arranged? Two in, two out? All in? All out?

Darren, if you want some serious light get M80 ballasts and use them. the put out a fair amount of light. I don't remember the PAR #'s exactly but it was just shy of the AB and the 250 watt radium. Actualy if you like the 250 watt radiums you shoudl see how nice they burn on the HQI ballasts.

I wish I could look into all kinds of fancy ballasts right now. But I am in major cheap mode for a while. I have the 250W pulse here and may try it if I can get a mogul socket and such.

As of right now I won't be throwing MH on this tank until next year. :frown:
