The Okanagan valley is a great place to live...snowboarding at Silver Star & Big White is excellent. Nurses are in good demand and there is enough business that you could probably use your Bachelors degree if you wanted to. I happen to have the same degree and I use it in what I do.

As for diving, they do dive in the various lakes around here but obviously they don't have quite the quality of diving available off the coast.

Edit: "Hey my 1000th post!"

I will vote for \sylvan lake area as well..I know of atleast 6 hospitals in the area looking for RN's and lots of work for trades stillto be had.... As for hunting I have seen a few hundred deer, 6 moose and 40-50 elk this week on my drive to work...I have managed to fill my tags every year

if you like hunting fishing scuba, tofino would be good, lots of work for trades there still, lots of buildings going up. Rent is high and hard to find but you can live in Ucluelet also lots of work there for trades.
Port Alberni hospital is close by, and there is a small hospital in Tofino as well.
You could also live in Port Alberni. Rent is cheap, not much for trades work but ucluelet is close as well as Tofino.

Thanks for all of the ideas so far guys. I think I need to go on a road trip through BC and Alberta to see some of these places myself.

Buddy of mine lives in Red Deer , owns a shop in sylvan lake, he says things are still booming...Sylvan lake is a very nice place too. Never thought i would say that about Alberta, but sylvan lake is pretty nice.

We do tile installations for new homes and renos and we have slowed down a bit. There are people begging for work at the moment unfortunately. We live in Bragg Creek about 25 minutes of of the city and we have hiking, quadding, fishing, and every other nature thing to do (aside of scuba) out here and a quick commute to the city. I do think Calgary's economy is better then most since there is still work out there, it is just a matter of finding it. I know they are always looking for nurses out this way though.
