Depending on the magnet...probably quite a bit! especially if it's on a thin overflow vs. thick glass.

Also, Chaloupa your pumpkin monti is delicious!!

I use small mag floats . I have two mag floats with caps on them . One on my overflow and one on the back glass. In my last tank I glued to different cours two the overflow with frag glue and it worked well. They were two small pieces though.

Heres a stag glued to a frag plug to the overflow.

Power heads are a good surface to glue frags or caps to as well.

You can also make the mag floats into frag trays by drilling 1/2" holes into them. You do though want to put some silicone in the holes to seal up the magnet again.

I will take a few shots tonight of the caps and post them.

As for on pumps, want about cleaning?

You don't. They never crapped out or lost any flow. I was lucky in that sense.
Just don't let Jason Mck take them off with a knife. He could remove the cap but he cut the power cord.

The rock version is great. I bought a piece at last year's MACNA and it is very solid. Nice shapes and I have quite a few frags sitting on it right now, hasnt moved a bit. It takes quite a bit of effort even to move the thing a little bit.

I have several monti caps growing on my overflow. I just crazy glued small chips on (nothing to heavy) they grow fast.
