Remind me not to get on some of your bad sides when it comes to money.
I think your ideas are great. However, I think I'm going to just limit my revenge to just not patronizing their restaurant anymore. If the small amount of cash that they stole was more important to them than keeping a customer happy and worth yelling at a customer for even thinking about claiming possession of the found item, then they'll just lose my business. I spend about $40/month there on lunch.
There's no way I can prove that they kept the money in court. They'll just say that they found the person who lost the money and gave it back to them. And there's no way that I can prove otherwise and they know that.

The 2 part-time employees that I handed the money to were innocent. They actually said I could pick it up near closing time. It was the 2 owner/managers that were rude and unethical with one saying that I can't claim it and that I should have just kept it in the first place. I told her that it was standard practise for the finder to claim found unclaimed items and then the reply was "give me some more time to find the owner of the money and call us back tomorrow". Hm, I guess they found the owner didn't they. Not surprising at all. When I tried to talk to the other "manager" the next day to verify her story, she won't give me his name or put him on the phone. I tried a few more times and still couldn't get to the bottom of it. They knew that if they made it hard for me, I'll give up eventually and go away. Well, case closed, lesson learned. If you find money next time, keep it and give your number to the store in case the person comes back looking for it they can call you and claim it if they know the exact amount lost.  Or just go out and buy a coral with it.
