The water is only $4 per 18L jug at Superstore, which I think isn't too bad. Haven't thought about checking ebay for used RO/DI filters though

You do know that superstore water is RO but they do not use DI filters. Also, I would be weary of those places as I am sure they do not check their filters that often. I use to do the same thing as you before I bought my RO/DI unit. I measured the water with a TDS meter in one of those jugs one day and found out it was at 50+ TDS.

I don't use the machine they have to fill up empty jugs, I buy the pre-sealed polaris jugs that they have. I just assumed the water polaris put in those jugs was ro/di, so I'm not 100% sure

P.S. - Both of those filters at Ocean Aquatics were sold by the time I called them this morning :cry:

I'm not sure they do DI... as there's urban myths abound with DI water.... so RO is likely the best you'll get. Also, for human consumtion, which is what the water is sold for, is likely RO only...

not nessasarly true, there are some places that do DI, and some that use RO and some that use a combanation. I lot of the machiens that you fill your self in stores are filters with DI so they do't have to do as much plumbing.
