looks like i better take advantage of J&L's free shipping for the month of march!!!!!!! What is the difference between an "Actinic White 12000k" and a "Super Actinic" VHO bulb. (Both URI)

Aquattro 03-26-2003 10:55 PM

Actinic White = - 180 degree internal reflector
- 50/50 White/Blue Spectrum
- 12,000K Color Temperature

Super Actinc= - 180 degree internal reflector
- 100% Blue Spectrum peaking at 420 nm

Thanks, but i wanted to know how different will they look on the tank is the super actinc white glow white or blue? i know the actinic glows blue just wondering about the Super actinic white

The Actinic lamps are a blue color. Only produce Actinic spectrum.

The Actinic Whites are a white lamp that have actinic supplementation in them.

I run a combination of 6500K daylight and Super Actinics and find I get excellent coral growth, and nice pleasant appearance.

When I ran the Aquasun VHO lamps I found them a bit pink, not truly white and while I've never seen the Actinic White lamps lit, I would assume they also would be pink/blue not a truly white light.
